YWCA Charleston seeks a compassionate Domestic Violence Advocate to support residents in a residential shelter during evenings and overnights. You will respond to crisis calls, assist with safety planning, and model healthy communication to promote dignity and healing.

Experience in trauma-informed care or crisis intervention is preferred, with willingness to obtain needed certifications. The role emphasizes teamwork, boundaries, and daily living support in a shelter community.

Formación

• Must be willing to work holidays, inclement weather, and residential health outbreak shifts.
• Preferred trainings in DV or sexual assault advocacy, crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, CPR/First Aid, and mandated reporter training.

Responsabilidades

• Respond to crisis calls and provide frontline crisis response in a residential shelter setting.
• Assist with safety planning and empowerment-based advocacy for survivors.
• Model healthy communication, boundaries, and conflict resolution within the shelter.
• Help settle house disputes and support daily living skills like cooking and light cleaning.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow confidentiality and safety protocols.
