Job summary

YWCA Charleston WV is seeking a compassionate Domestic Violence Advocate to work in our residential shelter during evening and overnight hours on weekends. You will provide frontline crisis response, support residents and families, and help maintain a safe, calm, empowering home.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; experience in related field valued.
• Willingness to obtain trainings such as DV advocacy, crisis intervention, CPR/First Aid.
• Commitment to trauma-informed care and safety.

Responsibilities

• Respond to crisis calls and provide de-escalation support.
• Assist with safety planning and empowerment-based advocacy.
• Support residents with daily living skills and house duties.
• Maintain accurate documentation and confidentiality.
