Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore's Weinberg Housing and Resource Center is seeking a Program Assistant to provide security by inspecting visitors and property before entry. The role includes ongoing security checks, maintaining a safe environment, and guiding residents and volunteers.

The position is on-site, part-time with a 11 PM–7 AM weekend and holiday schedule, located in Baltimore, MD. The center serves homeless individuals with meals, shelter, and supportive services; candidates should

Qualifications

• One year of related experience preferably working with the homeless or at-risk populations.
• Must be physically capable of moving throughout the building and lifting 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand 90% of the shift and work in outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Must be certified in CPR and/or First Aid within six months of employment. ServSafe certification within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Work to maintain a safe and secure environment for clients, staff, volunteers and visitors.
• Monitor compliance with policies and procedures, report incidents, write violations, and perform emergency interventions as required.
• Assist with orientation of residents and volunteers; provide guidance and report activities to supervisor as needed.
• Maintain logs and files related to programs, and accurately reflect events.
• Monitor building activity to ensure safety, security and policy compliance.
• React to emergency situations in a professional manner.
