Catholic Charities of Baltimore is seeking a Kitchen Program Assistant for the Weinberg Housing and Resource Center in Baltimore, MD. The role focuses on meal preparation, serving, and maintaining a safe, welcoming kitchen environment for residents.

The position involves direct interaction with adults experiencing homelessness, collaboration with staff and volunteers, and a goal of supporting residents toward permanent housing. This is an on-site, weekend/holiday schedule role.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience preferred, especially with homeless or at‑risk populations.
• Knowledge of basic personal care and housekeeping.
• Ability to interact respectfully and professionally with diverse individuals.
• Ability to stay calm and exercise good judgment in challenging situations.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritionally balanced meals to residents.
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and monitor food temperatures.
• Receive, store, and organize donated food and supplies.
• Manage inventory to meet daily service needs.
• Collaborate with staff and volunteers for efficient meal service.
• Provide respectful, professional support to shelter residents.
