Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System seeks a Security Guard for full-time night shifts and weekends in Amarillo, TX. The role provides security services for the Security and Safety Department, ensuring a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors while upholding Service Excellence standards.

The position requires a Texas Private Security Level II License or eligibility, plus Handle With Care training and the ability to respond to alarms, manage CCTV, and document incidents.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen with no felony or serious convictions in the past 10 years.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Texas driver license with a good driving record.
• Eligible for Texas Peace Officers License or Commissioned Private Security Guard License (TCPS) and compliant with renewal rules.
• Handle with Care training required and maintained yearly.

Responsibilities

• Respond to requests via radio, pager, telephone or other methods.
• Monitor CCTV system and troubleshoot as needed.
• Maintain logs of inspections and complete incident reports for criminal/civil situations.
• Participate in life safety drills and safety programs.
• Provide escorts to law enforcement, mental health facilities, and other agencies as required.
• Lock/unlock doors daily and enforce parking and non-smoking policies.
