Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, TX, seeks a full-time Security Guard for night and weekend coverage. The role supports the Security and Safety Department while maintaining a Texas Private Security Level II License.

Responsibilities include emergency response, CCTV monitoring, incident reporting, life-safety participation, and enforcing campus policies. Required qualifications include a HS diploma, a Texas driver license, and eligible security licenses; annual defense training is

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen with no felony or Class A convictions in the past 10 years
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
• Valid Texas driver license with good driving record
• Hold or be eligible for State of Texas Peace Officers License or TCPS Commissioned Private Security License
• Experience in arrest, search and seizure, interviewing techniques
• Handle with care training required and maintained yearly

Responsibilities

• Responds to radio, pager, telephone, or other requests.
• Responds to emergency calls for assistance.
• Responds to Panic Alarms within the facility.
• Conducts periodic inspection tours as required.
• Monitors CCTV security system and troubleshoots as needed.
• Maintains logs of inspections and incident reports.
• Participates in fire drills and Life Safety programs.
• Supports processes to improve performance of services.
• Assists with mental health situations as required.
• Attends Verbal De-Escalation Training and Handle With Care Training annually.
• Applies NWTHS Parking and Non-Smoking policies with written citations.
