Job summary

Apogee Enterprises, Inc. in Minnesota is seeking a Sandblast Operator to perform abrasive blasting and surface prep on metal and other materials, removing rust, scale, and contaminants prior to coating, welding, or finishing.

The role requires safe operation of blasting equipment, quality inspection, and adherence to production schedules and safety standards. Hours are Sunday–Thursday, 10:00pm–6:30am, with a rate of $24.00/hr plus a $1/50/hr shift differential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in sandblasting or manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate sandblasting and abrasive blasting equipment safely and efficiently.
• Prepare surfaces by removing rust, paint, mill scale, and other contaminants.
• Inspect workpieces and verify surface preparation requirements are met.
• Select appropriate blasting media, equipment settings, and protective gear.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
• Follow work instructions, quality standards, and production schedules.
• Comply with all environmental, health, and safety requirements.
