Job summary

Tru Vue Inc. in Minnesota is seeking a Sandblast Operator to perform abrasive blasting and surface preparation on metal and other materials, preparing them for coating, welding, fabrication or finishing processes.

The role requires safe operation of blasting equipment, inspection for surface prep and adherence to production schedules. You will document progress in CMMS, maintain a clean workspace per 6S, and support routine maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and safety procedures.
• Experience in sandblasting, manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial painting preferred.
• Ability to use measuring and inspection tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate sandblasting equipment safely and efficiently.
• Prepare surfaces by removing rust, paint, mill scale, and other contaminants.
• Inspect workpieces to verify surface prep requirements are met.
• Select appropriate blasting media, equipment settings, and protective gear.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
• Follow work instructions, quality standards, and production schedules.
• Comply with environmental, health, and safety requirements.
• Assist in troubleshooting and repair of production equipment.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on production equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area using 6S principles.
• Document work progress in CMMS and communicate work status to business partners.
