Apogee Enterprises, Inc. seeks a Sandblaster Operator to perform abrasive blasting and surface prep on metal and other materials. You will ensure safe operation of blasting equipment, inspect surfaces, and maintain production schedules while following safety standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent with prior sandblasting or manufacturing experience preferred. The position offers an hourly rate of $24.00/hour and a strong commitment to quality and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in sandblasting, manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial painting preferred.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and safety procedures.
• Ability to use measuring and inspection tools.
• Forklift or overhead crane experience is a plus.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Strong safety awareness.
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Operate sandblasting and abrasive blasting equipment safely and efficiently.
• Prepare surfaces by removing rust, paint, mill scale, and other contaminants.
• Inspect workpieces and verify surface preparation requirements are met.
• Select appropriate blasting media, equipment settings, and protective gear.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
• Follow work instructions, quality standards, and production schedules.
• Comply with environmental, health, and safety requirements.
• Assist in troubleshooting and repair of production equipment.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on production equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area using 6S principles.
• Document work progress in CMMS and communicate status to partners.
• Other duties as assigned.
