Job summary

Apogee Enterprises, Inc. in Minnesota is seeking a Sandblaster (Sandblast Operator) to perform abrasive blasting and surface preparation on metal and other materials prior to coating, welding, or finishing.

You will operate blasting equipment safely, remove rust and paint, inspect surfaces, select media, perform maintenance, and document progress in CMMS; 2:00pm-10:30pm shift; hourly rate $24 with $1 shift differential; opportunities to contribute to production efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in sandblasting, manufacturing, or industrial painting preferred.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and safety procedures.
• Ability to use measuring and inspection tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate sandblasting and abrasive blasting equipment safely and efficiently.
• Prepare surfaces by removing rust, paint, mill scale, and other contaminants.
• Inspect workpieces and verify surface preparation requirements are met.
• Select appropriate blasting media, equipment settings, and protective gear.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
• Follow work instructions, quality standards, and production schedules.
• Comply with environmental, health, and safety requirements.
• Document work progress in CMMS and communicate work status to business partners.
