Job summary

Apogee Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Sandblaster/Sandblast Operator for night shifts in Minnesota. The role involves abrasive blasting on metal surfaces, surface prep, equipment operation, and quality inspection to support coating, welding or finishing steps.

Responsibilities include selecting media, maintaining equipment, following 6S standards, and ensuring safety and production schedules are met. Training and a comprehensive benefits package accompany this position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Experience in sandblasting, manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial painting preferred.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and safety procedures.
• Ability to use measuring and inspection tools.
• Forklift or overhead crane experience is a plus.
• Strong safety awareness and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Operate sandblasting and abrasive blasting equipment safely and efficiently.
• Prepare surfaces by removing rust, paint, mill scale, and other contaminants.
• Inspect workpieces and verify surface preparation requirements are met.
• Select appropriate blasting media, equipment settings, and protective gear.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
• Follow work instructions, quality standards, and production schedules.
• Comply with all environmental, health, and safety requirements.
• Assist in troubleshooting and repair of production equipment.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on production equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area using 6S principles.
