Virtua Health in Voorhees, NJ is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a per diem, part-time night shift (12-hour) at our Voorhees location. The role involves patient assessment, development of individualized respiratory care plans, administering treatments, and ventilator care, with emphasis on cardio-respiratory management.

Requires AMA approved program in Respiratory Care, NJ licensure, BLS and ACLS credentials; Registry-eligible therapists may be considered and must obtain RRT within one year.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved program of Respiratory Care with a high school diploma.
• Registered or Registry Eligible as a Respiratory Therapist as determined by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• BLS credential. ACLS credential (or must obtain ACLS within 6 months of hire).
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the New Jersey State Board of Respiratory Care.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient assessments and develops individualized respiratory care plans.
• Administers treatments/medications as prescribed by the physician.
• Demonstrates competency in all aspects of invasive and non-invasive ventilator care.
• Demonstrates competency in Blood Gas Laboratory and related procedures.
• Provides patient and family education on medications, disease processes, treatments, and wellness strategies.
• Setup, operates, and maintains medical gas delivery and airway humidification systems.
• Documents patient care activities using computer information management systems.
