Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to perform direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory therapy, under physician orders, and to consult on the effectiveness of therapy. The role serves as an advanced resource for physicians and nursing staff and performs duties as assigned.

The position requires graduation from a CoARC-approved Respiratory Care program, current RCP licensure, and NBRC RRT credential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CoARC-approved Respiratory Care program.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• RRT credential awarded by NBRC; PALS required for ER staff.
• ACLS preferred; critical care experience preferred.
• Physical demands include push/pull/grip up to 50 lbs, kneel/crouch/crawl as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in respiratory therapy per physician orders.
• Consult physicians on effectiveness of therapy.
• Act as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing staff on respiratory care.
• Perform duties as assigned.
