Job summary

Mercy is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to provide direct patient care under physician orders in a hospital setting. You will collaborate with physicians and nursing staff, assessing therapy effectiveness and adjusting care as needed, while serving as a resource on respiratory care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory Care program.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• ACLS certification is preferred.
• PALS may be required for ER coworkers.
• Ability to handle physical demands and operate respiratory care devices.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care according to physician orders.
• Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy.
• Serves as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing on respiratory care.
• Performs duties as assigned.
