Job summary

Mercy seeks a Respiratory Therapist to deliver direct patient care in all areas of respiratory therapy under physician orders, consult on therapy effectiveness, and act as an advanced resource for clinicians. The role requires graduation from a CoArc approved program and a current RCP license.

Certification as an RRT NBRC is required, with PALS in ER and ACLS preferred. Expect physical demands including lifting and movement, and use of respiratory care devices as part of duties.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Licensure: Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Experience: None.
• Certifications: Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the NBRC. For ER, PALS is required.
• Other: Physical demands with push/pull/grip up to 50 lbs., pinch up to 10 lbs., kneel/crouch/crawl.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care, according to physician's orders.
• Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy.
• Acts as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing on respiratory care.
• Performs duties as assigned.
