Job summary

Interstate Waste Services, Inc. is seeking an Operations Supervisor I to oversee collections across multiple lines of business, manage drivers and helpers, and work with the Hauling Manager to meet safety and efficiency targets.

The role emphasizes adherence to safety programs, regulatory standards, and a culture of employee engagement, with a focus on Customer Experience and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 0-1+ years experience in waste management operations.
• 0-1+ years supervisory experience in waste management, transportation, and/or logistics services.
• Knowledge of DOT requirements for commercial vehicles.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Knowledge of PowerBI preferred.
• Must possess strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise route activities across one or more lines of business.
• Lead drivers and helpers; coordinate with Hauling Manager to meet safety and efficiency targets.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, regulatory, and ethical standards.
• Monitor routes for safety and efficiency; coach drivers on safe driving behaviors.
• Maintain DOT compliance and regulatory paperwork; oversee route documentation.
