Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for the Extended Care Unit in Leominster, MA. This 36-hour night position requires assessment and management of adult patients, coordinating care with the respiratory care team and physicians.

The role includes administering therapies, monitoring ABGs, supervising students and agency staff, and maintaining equipment. A signing bonus is available, with strong emphasis on patient-focused care and collaboration with the health team.

Qualifications

• AS in Respiratory Care from an accredited program.
• RRT credential NBRC required.
• Massachusetts license to practice respiratory care.
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS required within 3 months of employment.
• NRP required within 3 months of employment.
• PALS required within 3 months of employment.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Works as part of a team to ensure optimal patient care.
• Reviews patient records for admission history and orders.
• Administers aerosolized medications as prescribed.
• Draws and analyzes arterial blood gases and reports results.
• Consults with physicians to optimize therapy and communicate plans.
• Maintains and troubleshoots respiratory equipment per policy.
• Provides instruction and supervision to students and new staff.
