Job summary

Mars Petcare is seeking a Reliability Technician for its North Kansas City, MO facility. You will provide hands-on technical support on the production floor and help build the team's maintenance capability.

You will troubleshoot equipment, perform preventive maintenance (SAP), and drive safety, quality, and efficiency improvements with leadership across shifts.

This role emphasizes problem solving, TPM practices, and mentoring other technicians while upholding GMP and Lockout/Tagout procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous maintenance experience or a formal technical education.
• Fundamental understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work rotating shifts.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various physical conditions (heat, cold, heights).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair routine electrical and mechanical issues on manufacturing equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance using SAP and document findings.
• Lead breakdown analysis and root-cause problem-solving to reduce production losses.
• Train and mentor other technicians to enhance troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Uphold plant safety and GMP requirements, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Confined Space procedures.
