Job summary

Trinity Services, Inc. in Grundy County, IL seeks a Certified Recovery Support Specialist to support individuals in mental health crisis with peer-based guidance and recovery planning. You will model self-care, facilitate coping strategies, and help clients access resources in a community-focused setting.

The role requires lived experience, CRSS certification, GED/HS diploma, and a valid driver’s license. Shift is 10 pm–8 am; benefits include health coverage, PTO, holidays, and growth

Qualifications

• Lived experience as a consumer of mental health or substance use services is required.
• GED or high school diploma; CRSS certification required.
• WRAP certification or willingness to complete training.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate peer support to individuals in mental health crisis situations.
• Collaborate with individuals to develop a personalized recovery plan for safety and comfort.
• Teach and model problem-solving, identify self-talk barriers, and approaches to fears.
• Assist participants in identifying strengths, recovery goals, and barriers to interventions.
• Serve as a role model for recovery with coping and self-care techniques.
• Participate in trainings, seminars, and meetings to improve peer support.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess high-risk indicators.
• Conduct outreach and connect participants to community resources and services.
• Provide follow-up to ensure continuity of care and engagement.
• Participate in daily Living Room upkeep and may float to Joliet as needed.
