Bay Cove Human Services in Greater Boston area is seeking a Recovery Specialist to support individuals recovering from substance use disorders. The role collaborates with a team to ensure day‑to‑day program operations and recovery‑focused care.

This non-exempt position runs Friday and Saturday nights (11pm–7am). Group activities, wellness checks, and crisis de‑escalation are part of the responsibilities, with emphasis on safety and compassion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Six months experience in health and human services preferred.
• Flexibility to work weekends on a scheduled basis.
• Familiarity with 42 CFR Part 2 and HIPAA within one week of hire.
• Confidentiality, professionalism, and appropriate boundaries.
• Verbal and written communication proficiency.
• Basic proficiency with Windows, Word, and Google Apps.
• Lived experience encouraged; bilingual candidates encouraged with possible pay differential.

Responsibilities

• Provide supportive care to meet individuals' needs and promote a dignified, respectful environment.
• Conduct searches of belongings using trauma-informed practices at admission, discharge, and as directed.
• Monitor wellbeing, perform wellness checks, and respond to changes per policy.
• Observe and document self-administration of medications according to policies.
• Assist in wellness activities and recreational programs under clinical guidance.
• Support cleanliness, meal preparation, and room prep for admissions.
