Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System in Boise, Idaho seeks a Phlebotomist/Central Processing Tech for a full-time, overnight schedule (40 hours/week, Wed–Sat 8:30pm–7am). The role involves blood collection, patient identification, specimen handling, labeling, processing, and data entry across the hospital laboratory services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and hospital staff.
• Good working knowledge of medical terminology and computers.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Experience in phlebotomy in a hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples, correctly identify patients, transport specimens and perform related clerical and computer tasks.
• Register, order, properly collect, label, process, and distribute specimens for laboratory testing from patients of all ages.
• Utilize relevant computer programs and perform data entry.
• Serve as central communication for laboratory requests and ensure quality/quantity of specimens sent to reference laboratories and report results.
