Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Phlebotomist Tech II for the Labs-Phlebotomy team. This full-time overnight role operates Tuesday through Saturday, 10:30pm–7:00am, with rotating holidays, performing venipuncture, specimen processing, and related duties in a customer-focused lab environment.

You will register patients, verify identities, and manage specimens using LIS and EPIC systems, while maintaining quality control, safety, and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a NAACLS‑accredited phlebotomy program preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience and knowledge of specimen processing a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipunctures according to policies, collects timed specimens, blood cultures, pediatric and neonatal samples.
• Identifies patients and labels specimens per policy and procedure.
• Receives and prepares specimens for analysis; handles 24‑hour urines and send‑outs as needed.
• Operates LIS/EPIC for order entry, registration, and data entry tasks.
• Maintains equipment, documents logs, and adheres to safety and infection control procedures.
