Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a Phlebotomist (Laboratory Assistant II) to perform venipuncture and specimen collection for inpatients and outpatients across multiple hospital areas. You will enter patient and test information into the LIS, generate barcodes, and help ensure accurate, timely processing of specimens in a safe, compliant environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of phlebotomy training program preferred
• Phlebotomy certification preferred
• ASCP certification/eligible preferred

Responsibilities

• Lab Registration: Registers and orders specimens into LIS and prints labels.
• Specimen Collection: Performs phlebotomy on inpatients and outpatients.
• Specimen Processing/Send-Outs: Prepares and sends specimens to referral laboratories.
• Microbiology: Maintains inventory and records of processes performed.
