Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program required.
• BLS/CPR certification required.
• Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled venipuncture and capillary punctures on diverse patient populations.
• Adhere to infection control, PPE use, and proper disposal of biohazards.
• Identify patients using at least two identifiers and explain procedures to patients.
• Accurately label specimens and verify patient information with test orders.
• Enter demographics and order data into LIS/EHR with precision.
• Maintain an organized, clean workstation and assist with supply management.
• Comply with HIPAA and privacy regulations.
