Responsibilities

• Reviews each order to verify accuracy and appropriateness.
• Dispenses medications from the provider’s order.
• Ensures policies and procedures related to drug distribution are followed.
• Manages drug use control in assigned service areas.
• Identifies drug-use problems and recommends resolutions.
• Assumes responsibility for pharmaceutical services in assigned area.
• Detects, reports, and helps minimize adverse drug reactions and errors.
• Educates pharmacy staff and students; participates in ongoing education activities.
