Job summary

UPMC East is seeking a fulltime Night Pharmacist to join our team for an overnight rotation (7 days on, 7 days off) with weekend and holiday responsibilities. The role emphasizes safe pharmacotherapy, patient education, and collaboration with physicians and nurses to ensure optimal medication use.

Responsibilities include dispensing, medication-use evaluation, and supervising staff while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree required.
• Current Pharmacist license in the practicing state.
• Entry level available; experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and verify prescriptions for inpatient and outpatient care.
• Maintain patient records for allergies, interactions, and duplications.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and hospital policies.
• Dispense medications and prepare IV admixtures using aseptic technique.

Education

ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy degree (B.S Pharmacist) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
