Job summary

Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, VA is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for 2 East IMCU. This full-time night position includes three 12-hour shifts (7pm–7am) with every-other-weekend rotation.

The role supports RNs in high-acuity care, including ventilator and BiPAP patients, with duties spanning vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, IV care, and specimen collection. You will document patient status, report changes, and participate in a collaborative, patient-centered care model at a

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA/NCMA/NCPCT certification preferred.
• AHA BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Healthcare experience preferred; training in phlebotomy, EKG, and IV care is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Measure vital signs and assist with mobility and ambulation.
• Perform phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, and EKG testing.
• Assist with peripheral IV removal and specimen collection.
• Insert/remove Foley catheters per protocol and assist with safety practices.
• Observe patient conditions and document changes for the RN.
