Job summary

Community Hospital North in Oklahoma City seeks a licensed Paramedic to support nursing and physician staff in the ED and med/surg units. You will be an active member of the rapid response team, performing tasks within the scope of care and state guidelines under medical direction.

The role requires current Oklahoma paramedic licensure, BLS within 30 days, and ACLS/PALS within 90 days. A sign-on bonus of $2,000 is offered for full‑time employment.

Qualifications

• Current licensed Paramedic with the State of Oklahoma.
• BLS healthcare provider required within 30 days of hire, and ACLS and PALS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates in patient assessment in ED and med/surg units with timely, systematic approach.
• Collects data for assessments and documents before discharge or transfer.
• Notifies ED provider or nurse when changes occur.
• Demonstrates ability to interpret information for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Executes plan of care under RN direction to achieve identified outcomes.
• Performs procedures within licensure and approved scope.
• Delegates tasks to unlicensed health care staff as appropriate.
• Monitors for dysrhythmias and reports changes promptly.
• Oversees cardiac monitoring during patient transport and communicates clearly.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient, staff, and hospital information.
• Ensures a clean, stocked workplace; restocks rooms daily at shift start.
• Maintains equipment and instruments; reports faulty gear and arranges replacement.
• Demonstrates lead placement for 12‑lead ECG and performs ECGs per policy.
• Performs clerical duties at desk, handles calls, and uses paging system.
