Job summary

United Surgical Partners International, Inc. is seeking a Paramedic to support the emergency department and med/surg units, and to actively participate in the rapid response team.

The role emphasizes CARES values, adherence to the Oklahoma Standard of Care, and working under the Emergency Services Medical Director and Facility CNO. The position requires current Oklahoma paramedic licensure, basic computer/office skills, and BLS within 30 days plus ACLS and PALS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Paramedic with the State of Oklahoma required.
• BLS healthcare provider required within 30 days of hire, and ACLS and PALS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates in the assessment of the patient and/or situations in a timely, consistent and systematic manner.
• Assists RN in collection of admission data to be used in the assessment of patients at presentation to ED and appropriate procedures initiated.
• Gathers data to be used assessments for each patient as frequently as necessary.
• Notifies ED provider and/or assigned nurse when changes occur.
• Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information for pediatric, adult and geriatric patients.
• Implements plan of care under direction of the RN to achieve identified outcomes for the patient.
• Performs procedures at their licensure level in accordance with guidelines.
• Delegates appropriate tasks to unlicensed health care providers.
• Monitors patients requiring cardiac monitoring during transport and communicates effectively.
• Maintains confidentiality and ensures a clean, stocked workspace.
• Maintains equipment and reports faults; replaces as needed.
• Demonstrates knowledge of lead placement for 12-lead ECG and performs ECG per policy.
• Performs clerical duties at desk as needed and uses telephone etiquette.
