Job description

Night Operations Assistant Store Manager

Join us to apply for the Night Operations Assistant Store Manager role at The Home Depot.

In this role, the Night Operations Assistant Store Manager in Training (NOASM-IT) will gain hands-on experience in key responsibilities and functions. The comprehensive training program includes mentorship, leadership development, and operational exposure, focusing on overseeing overnight freight operations and collaborating with Night Replenishment Managers to ensure efficient freight handling.

The training, lasting up to 6 weeks, aims to prepare candidates to develop strategies for boosting sales and profitability, managing department operations, and upholding company policies. NOASM-ITs are expected to lead by example and support lawful company policies throughout their training.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Customer Experience (10%): Supervise associates, promote GET culture, ensure excellent customer service, and resolve concerns promptly.
  2. Operations Management (15%): Perform store opening/closing duties, adhere to policies, maintain safety compliance, and mitigate shrinkage.
  3. Safety (15%): Ensure safety and hazmat procedures are followed by all team members.
  4. Sales and Productivity (10%): Collaborate on merchandise placement, inventory management, and equipment operation.
  5. Training and Development (50%): Participate in structured training covering store management, staffing, customer service, and performance management; complete all modules and assessments.
Additional Details:
  • Reporting Line: Typically reports to the Store Manager; no direct reports.
  • Travel: Less than 5% overnight travel.
  • Physical Requirements: Walking, standing, lifting, and other exertions, some heavy or awkward.
  • Working Conditions: Indoor environment with occasional mild discomfort.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be 18+ and legally permitted to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Effective collaboration skills, high school diploma or GED, bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of work experience and leadership experience preferred.
Certifications:
  • None required; action-oriented, customer focus, talent development, and results-driven qualities preferred.
