Assistant Store Manager - Northgate, Fayetteville, NC

We are looking for dedicated employees to join our team to help our customers have the best experience possible every time they enter a DTLR store.

Position Summary: The primary purpose of the Assistant Store Manager is to assist the Store Manager in daily store operations, ensuring maximum sales and profitability through merchandising, managing expenses and inventory, training and developing staff, human resources management, and providing outstanding customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the quality and performance of the retail store staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Model effective leadership to motivate the team towards store goals and standards.
  • Assist with recruitment, selection, training, and development of store personnel.
  • Support the Store Manager in performance evaluations of staff.
  • Assist with expense management and develop strategies to meet budget goals.
  • Monitor and address issues related to store loss or inventory discrepancies.
  • Ensure operational compliance, safety, and business standards are maintained.
  • Support employee training in selling and merchandising techniques.
  • Uphold customer service standards to ensure a friendly environment and outstanding service.
  • Assist with merchandise inventory counts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Up to 40 hours per week, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Flexibility required.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience: Minimum of 1 year in retail management.

Skills and Knowledge: Strong business knowledge, excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, strategic thinking, professionalism, analytical skills, results-driven mindset, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and willingness to work across multiple store locations.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, work in a fast-paced environment, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel.
