Job summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System is seeking an experienced nurse supervisor to help manage daily unit activities, develop staff, schedule shifts, and oversee budget and quality initiatives to ensure high-quality patient care and outcomes.

The role requires at least three years of nursing experience, a TX RN license (or Compact), BLS, ALS/ACLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring training, with collaboration across disciplines to support safe, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
  • Three years of professional nursing experience required.
  • Current RN license or valid Texas Board of Nursing permit (Compact RN ok).
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
  • ALS or ACLS certification on hire or placement.
  • NRP certification on hire or placement.
  • Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring Training on hire or placement.

Responsibilities

  • Assist daily unit management, schedule staff, and supervise patient care activities.
  • Provide clinical role modeling and educational support to staff.
  • Ensure compliance with Parkland, Joint Commission, and unit policies and guidelines.
  • Track and report on quality metrics and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with physicians, administration, and ancillary services to optimize patient services.
  • Participate in budget development and monitor unit expenditures.
  • Support policy development and staff education to meet department goals.
