Job summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System (PHHS) is seeking an experienced Nursing Supervisor to support daily unit management on our Texas campus. The role includes staff supervision and development, scheduling, budget oversight, quality initiatives and coordinating patient services to ensure high‑quality care and optimal outcomes.

You will act as a clinical resource, guide staff, ensure policy compliance, collaborate with physicians and ancillary departments, and participate in committees to advance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Three (3) years of professional nursing experience.
• Current RN license or valid temporary permit with the Texas Board of Nursing or valid Compact RN license.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily management of unit activities; supervise staff; develop staff schedules and ensure optimal service.
• Provide patient care, plan discharge, and arrange support services for high-quality patient care.
• Ensure compliance with Parkland, Joint Commission, and unit policies and guidelines; monitor quality practices.
• Collaborate with staff, physicians, administration and risk management to improve patient services.
• Assist in budgeting (operating, capital, payroll) and monitor charges and supplies; participate in goals setting.
• Serve on multidisciplinary committees and coordinate with other departments.
