Job summary

Nationwide-Children Hospital in Columbus, OH is seeking a Behavioral Health Nursing Assistant for night shift (11pm-7:30am). This role is 0.4 FTE with 16 hours weekly and benefits eligible; every other weekend required.

Responsibilities include trauma-informed care and collaboration with the care team. The successful candidate will hold a high school diploma, be enrolled in a psychology or related undergraduate program, and obtain BLS, TCI, and First Aid certifications within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Currently enrolled in and completing half a Psychology, Social Work, or related undergraduate program.
• BLS, TCI, and First Aid certifications are required prior to orientation.
• Experience in mental health hospital settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate with interdisciplinary team in specialized patient care.
• Care for patient assignments as delegated.
• Build therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Provide trauma-informed care and de-escalation as needed.
• Collaborate to develop treatment plans and support safety.
