Job summary

Licking Memorial Health Systems (LMHS) in Newark, OH is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for night shifts. The candidate must hold MLS registration or be eligible, or be a Medical Laboratory Technologist. A BS in medical technology and internship is required; CPR certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of clinical laboratory testing procedures.

• Experience supporting patient care in a clinical lab setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specimens for analysis and establish testing priorities.
• Perform routine and some complex clinical laboratory tests.
• Record and report results, and refer issues to the supervisor.
• Maintain and calibrate instruments, run quality controls.
• Assist with training new staff and ensure safety procedures.
