Job summary

Jackson County Memorial Hospital Authority seeks an experienced Medical Laboratory Technician for the night shift to perform complex laboratory procedures across chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation and blood bank. The role requires instrument operation and strict adherence to policies, with focus on accuracy and timely reporting.

Qualified applicants will hold an Associate degree in Medical Technology or equivalent, and MLT registry eligibility is preferred.

Qualifications

• College-level math, computer, reasoning and language skills required.
• Associate degree in Medical Technology or equivalent required.
• MLT Registry eligibility preferred with ASCP or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory procedures in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation and blood bank.
• Operates and maintains lab instruments; performs instrument checks as required.
• Uses independent judgment to interpret results and communicates with medical staff.
• Maintains thorough records and ensures accuracy during Health Information System downtime.
• Demonstrates initiative, safety, and adherence to hospital policies in day-to-day duties.
