Job summary

Mercy Health – Lorain Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician I (MLT) to perform routine tests on blood and body specimens, delivering accurate results and maintaining patient safety. The role requires adherence to lab procedures and quality controls, with careful attention to equipment operation.

Evenings/Nights, full-time (36 hours weekly) with rotating weekends and holidays. Certification as MLT or eligible is required; two years of lab experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have MLT certification or eligibility.
• 2 years of clinical lab experience preferred.
• Education must meet one of the listed options.

Responsibilities

• Performs analytical tests on biological specimens accurately per procedures.
• Assesses specimen acceptability via visual inspection.
• Recognizes factors affecting measurements and takes corrective action per protocols.
• Performs quality control and ensures results are ready for release.
• Maintains a safe, clean work environment and troubleshoots equipment.
• Other duties as assigned
