Job summary

City of Hope is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist for the 3rd shift in Zion, IL. The role involves performing tests across chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis and transfusion services with emphasis on accuracy and patient care.

Responsibilities include quality control, instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, phlebotomy when needed, and mentoring new staff. Eligibility includes an associate or bachelor's in lab science and relevant certification.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or higher.
• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology.
• Medical Technologist certification with at least two years of hospital lab experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing across multiple disciplines with accuracy.
• Conduct quality control testing and routine instrument maintenance.
• Troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Perform phlebotomy as needed.
• Train and mentor new staff and students.
• Cross-train and support specialized areas such as Flow Cytometry, Microbiology, and Cellular Therapy.
