Job summary

City of Hope is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist for the 3rd shift to perform a variety of tests across Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis and Transfusion Services with accuracy and efficiency. The position requires an associate or bachelor’s degree in MLS/MLT or MT certification with a minimum of two years of hospital laboratory experience.

You will conduct quality control, instrument maintenance, and phlebotomy as needed, with opportunities to mentor staff and support Flow

• Perform laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
• Conduct quality control testing and routine instrument maintenance.
• Troubleshoot laboratory equipment and ensure optimal instrument performance.
• Perform phlebotomy as needed.
• Train and mentor new employees and students as assigned.
• Cross-train and support specialized laboratory areas, including Flow Cytometry, Microbiology, and Cellular Therapy.

Schedule

10:00 PM - 6:30 AM, every other weekend, with various weekdays as scheduled.

Position Summary

Performs a variety of laboratory tests across multiple disciplines, including Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Transfusion Services, with accuracy and efficiency. Applies knowledge of testing methodologies and laboratory principles to support clinical decision‑making and quality patient care.

Position Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience: Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology, or Medical Technologist certification with a minimum of two (2) years of clinical hospital laboratory experience.
