Job summary
Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Medical Surgical Unit on the night shift in Arlington Heights, IL. The role involves assisting patients with personal care, monitoring vital signs, and supporting RN/LPN staff in daily rounds.
Qualified candidates will have CNA certification or be in a nursing program with clinical rotations and current CPR certification. Evening orientation and weekend requirements apply.
Qualifications
- The level of knowledge normally obtained through the completion of high school.
- Completion of an accredited CNA course and the CNA certification exam.
- Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with bathing, grooming, eating, bedpan use, positioning, and calling for staff under RN/LPN supervision.
- Help with exercising and ambulating patients, using proper body mechanics and ensuring safety.
- Record vital signs, input/output, accu-checks, and report abnormalities to the nurse; may perform EKGs and other basic procedures as directed.
- Support admission, discharge, transfer, and transport duties; answer unit phones and direct calls accordingly.
