Job summary

Endeavor Health in Arlington Heights, IL is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Intermediate Care Unit during night shifts, full-time (36 hours/week). Orientation occurs during the first week, with hours from 7:00pm to 7:30am and every other weekend.

The role supports the care team and requires CNA coursework and CPR certification. You will assist in patient mobility, attend to personal care needs, record data, and help coordinate care with physicians and family members, all under RN/LPN

Qualifications

• The level of knowledge normally obtained through the completion of high school.
• Completion of an accredited CNA course and the successful completion of the CNA certification exam, EMT or paramedics training course, or current enrollment in an accredited nursing program with the completion of at least one major clinical medical or surgical rotation required
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Enter patient treatments and charges to update the medical record.
• Assist the care team in coordinating patient activities and services.
• Assist in coordinating communication among care team, physicians, patients and family members.
• Assist patients with personal care needs including bathing, grooming, eating, and bedmaking under RN/LPN supervision.
• Assist with exercising and ambulating patients, ensuring safety and comfort under RN/LPN supervision.
• Obtain vital signs, input/output checks and accu-checks; perform procedures like EKGs under supervision; document care in EMR.
• Assist with admitting, discharging, transferring, transporting and observing patients; answer unit phones and direct calls.
