Job summary

Maine Veterans’ Homes is seeking a compassionate LPN Charge Nurse for the overnight shift at Freedom Bay Memory Care Village. You will lead the nursing team, oversee care plans, and ensure safe, person-centered care for residents with dementia.

You will supervise CNAs, coordinate night assignments, and respond to changes in resident conditions while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to maintain continuity of care during the night.

Qualifications

• Current, active LPN license in the State of Maine.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Ability to work harmoniously with residents, families, and staff.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care per care plans and policies.
• Supervise and support CNAs on the overnight shift.
• Coordinate and delegate assignments for staffing and workload.
• Monitor resident conditions and respond to changes.
• Administer medications and treatments per policy.
• Document care accurately and timely.
• Communicate with providers, families and interdisciplinary team.
• Maintain a calm, safe environment overnight.
• Support admissions, discharges, and care transitions.
