Job summary

Maine Veterans' Homes is seeking an overnight Charge Nurse (RN or LPN) for Freedom Bay Memory Care Village in Maine. You will lead the nursing team, oversee care plans, and ensure safe, compassionate, person-centered care during the night shift.

In this role you will supervise CNAs, coordinate staffing, monitor residents, administer medications, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support residents with dementia.

Qualifications

• Current, active RN or LPN license in the State of Maine.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Ability to work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers, residents, families, and supervisors.
• Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Basic computer skills.
• Experience working with individuals with dementia or in a memory care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the clinical care and daily nursing operations of the overnight shift in the Memory Care Village.
• Provide direct nursing care to residents per care plans and best practices.
• Supervise CNAs and other nursing staff on the overnight shift.
• Coordinate and delegate assignments to ensure appropriate staffing.
• Monitor resident conditions and respond to changes promptly.
• Administer medications within licensure and policy.
• Communicate with providers, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and services.
