Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a medical laboratory technology, medical laboratory science or clinical laboratory science with four (4) years of laboratory training or experience, or both in nonwaived testing, in the designated specialty/sub-specialty area
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical or biological science with two (2) years of laboratory training or experience, or both in nonwaived testing, in the designated specialty/sub-specialty area
• Foreign educated candidates must provide a credential evaluation from a recognized agency for review to determine eligibility

Responsibilities

• Performs all duties of MLT/MLS duties as defined by the department, at a high level of competency; provides onsite supervision in the absence of the section supervisor
• Focuses on quality by reviewing records and assuring performance of all quality control and assurance procedures; ensures documentation meets accrediting standards
• Monitors, recognizes opportunities for improvement, and participates in improving the department's financial performance, productivity, and service
• Assists with basic personnel oversight including participation in selection, training, and competency; supports orientation and assessments
• Serves as a resource communication liaison for on-site and System issues; promotes teamwork and customer service

Education

Associate degree in medical laboratory technology or clinical laboratory science
