Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Inc. in Miramar, FL is seeking a Lab Assistant (Referral Representative I) to handle referrals, process specimens, and resolve complex customer issues on a first-class basis. The role runs Monday to Friday, 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a pay range starting at $17.75 per hour and potential shift differentials for second/third shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum one to two years clinical laboratory experience.
• Customer service and/ or medical background preferred.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)

Responsibilities

• Retrieve, sort and process specimens for shipment to referral laboratories.
• Ensure sample quality and accuracy; identify problems with specimen types.
• Prepare specimens and packages for shipment per IATA regulations.
• Handle all customer inquiries regarding reporting of results and service issues.
• Report laboratory results using established protocols.
• Contact clients to resolve routine or medical/technical matters related to patient testing and result reporting.
• Maintain work area in a safe, functional and sanitary condition.
