Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Lab Assistant (Referral Representative I) in Miramar, FL, with a Monday–Friday night shift from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM. This role handles referral testing, specimen processing, and client communications while ensuring compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, and OSHA standards.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in a clinical lab and strong data entry, MS Office, and LIS skills. Opportunity for growth and a performance-based bonus are described in the posting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years clinical laboratory experience.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Handle internal and external customer contact regarding Referral Testing and resolve complex issues.
• Retrieve, sort and process specimens for shipment to referral laboratories.
• Ensure sample quality and accuracy; identify problems with specimens or missing information.
• Prepare specimens and packages for shipment per IATA regulations.
• Maintain a safe, functional, and sanitary work area.
• Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA and laboratory safety requirements.
• Report laboratory results using established protocols.
• Communicate test not performed and lab incidents to clients within 24 hours.
