Job summary

Pura Vida Miami is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Supervisor to manage night-time prep, ensure freshness, and maintain labeling and safety standards in our Costa Mesa kitchen. You will lead a small team, coordinate with front-of-house, and ensure smooth transitions between shifts.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, reliability, and strong communication. The position requires 1–2 years in a fast-paced kitchen, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and a Food Handler Certification.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years in fast-paced kitchen/restaurant
• Ability to lead by example during night shifts
• Familiar with kitchen tools, equipment, and measurement systems
• Food Handler Certification as per local requirements
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and cleanliness
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented with strong communication skills
• Must be able to stand long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preparation to ensure kitchen ready for next-day operations.
• Monitor ingredient levels, rotate stock, uphold freshness and quality.
• Maintain labeling standards and ensure food safety, storage, and expiration guidelines.
• Uphold cleanliness and sanitation across all kitchen stations, tools, and equipment.
• Restock supplies and prep stations for following day.
• Execute nightly closing procedures with proper equipment shutdown and deep cleaning.
• Record daily waste and ensure inventory and waste management compliance.
• Maintain a clean, organized walk-in cooler and kitchen for morning operations.
• Ensure efficiency in closing routines for smooth shift transitions.
• Foster communication between BOH and FOH teams for smooth shifts.
