Job summary

MercyOne Trinity Health in Des Moines, IA, is seeking a dedicated RN for the 12-hour night ICU shift (7 PM–7 AM). The role involves high-acuity care, ECMO as needed, and collaboration across disciplines to ensure safe, outcome-based patient care. A strong emphasis on assessment, planning, and communication is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; BSN preferred.
• No experience required; critical care nursing experience preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license (current IL license if working in IL).
• BLS, Mandatory Reporter.
• ACLS within 12 months of hire.
• NVCI within 6 months of hire.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to lead/direct others in high-stress environments.
• ELSO requirements for ECLS specialist when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assess and plan patient care; develop outcome-based care plans.
• Coordinate and deliver patient care; delegate tasks as needed.
• Document and reassess patient status; update care plans.
• Effectively communicate patient status across teams and during transitions.
• Maintain clinical competence and safety; administer medications per protocol.
• Provide ECMO management where applicable including data documentation.
