Job summary

MercyOne Trinity Health is seeking an ICU Night RN to provide high-level care in a 12-hour night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM. The role includes assessment, planning, and coordination of care for critically ill patients, with ECMO responsibilities for eligible cases. Relocation incentives and a generous night shift differential are available.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; BSN preferred.
• No experience required; critical care nursing experience preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license; IL license if working in Illinois.
• BLS; Mandatory Reporter.
• ACLS within 12 months of hire.
• Cardiac monitoring course or advanced Nursing/ Critical Care training.
• NVCI training within 6 months of hire.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
• Ability to lead/direct others in high-stress situations.
• For ECLS Specialist: complete ECLS course per guidelines and 72 hours supervised experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial and ongoing patient assessments; develops individualized plans of care.
• Coordinates and delivers patient care; delegates tasks appropriately.
• Regularly reassesses patients; updates care plans and documents.
• Effectively communicates patient status across teams and during shift transitions.
• Follows protocols, administers medications safely, and demonstrates required systems proficiency.
• Provides advanced ECMO care and data documentation when applicable.
• Delivers age-appropriate care based on patient needs.
• Adheres to infection control and regulatory standards.
• Supports mission and professional development.
