Job summary

Endeavor Health’s Swedish Hospital in Chicago, IL is hiring a Public Safety Officer for a full-time evening shift (4:00pm–12:30am). You will provide unarmed, uniformed security and safety services to protect patients, staff and visitors while patrolling facilities and responding to incidents.

Responsibilities include enforcing access control, guiding visitors, and coordinating with police when necessary; a strong emphasis on professional conduct and customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a customer-focused service-based organization.
• CPI certification within six months of hire; IA HSS certification within twelve months; valid FOID card within 90 days; CPR within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provides unarmed uniformed security/safety-related services under general supervision.
• Protects persons and property; escorts individuals when needed.
• Patrols facilities and grounds; responds to service calls promptly and professionally.
• Reports incidents and possible losses; coordinates with police when required.
• Monitors access points, tests equipment, and ensures secure doors and windows.
